As part of the EU Initiative on Health Security, Dr Elena Savoia, Deputy Director of the Emergency Preparedness Research Evaluation & Practice Program at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and founding member of the IRIS Academic Research Group, will be leading sessions on how public health agencies can improve their communication capacities.
Particular focus will be given to:
- How agencies can integrate data from social media and population surveys to characterise the information environment;
- Use of this knowledge to provide more targeted responses to meet better the information needs of the population;
- Enable and encourage greater transparency in communication to help build trust and resilience in times of crisis.
